boy bastos

I had an interesting news coverage last Friday.

The National Bureau of Investigation’s probe on the porn site boybastos.com brought them to a posh residential area in Ayala Alabang.

They were able to obtain a search warrant from the court and this allowed them to enter the room of the porn site owner. Tawagin na lang natin syang “M”.

Ginising pa ng kanyang mommy si “M” because he was then taking his afternoon nap. Then the NBI agents entered his room, took photos and confiscated his computer.

It was Sen. Loren Legarda who called the attention of the NBI to boybastos.com.

There’s a reason why Legarda is raising the issue of trafficking of women intead of pornography.

According to the NBI, the law on pornography in the Philippines has yet to be updated to include internet porn.

As I write this, the NBI computer experts must already be dissecting the computer they got from “M” to gather evidence that boybastos was used in trafficking of women.

Meanwhile, “M” is as free as a bird because the NBI has yet to find a basis to arrest him.

Nang tanungin ko si “M” (he’s 28 years old and jobless), he was firm in saying that he’s not violating any law. “I’m just exercising my freedom of expression,” he said.

  1. I used to own some websites, pero about pets ito.

If binili ni M ang website nya, outside the Philippines(meaning, binili nya ang domain name nya sa isang foreign registry body/ foreign website using his credit card, lusot yan.)

Well, kahit sino naman at kahit saan pwede to i-update.

I know some websites na pareho ng boybastos.com. Forum based din to.

Minsan nagbabayad din sila, extra income to para sa iba… minsan naman… they do it for free.

  2. But what Loren Legarda and the NBI did was wrong! We’re not a police state, are we? Are we still under martial law? Or Loren Legarda is now practicing how to be a dictator? What they did is very reminiscent of martial law!

I’m not here to defend boy bastos nor have a fight over pornography or women trafficking, because the issue is Loren Legarda.

  3. trafficking of women? I think not.

  4. sometimes i get the feeling that reality is advancing too fast for laws to catch up. i bet that by the time the philippines updates its laws to include internet pornography, a newer, more advanced form of communication would have surfaced.

habulan ito na walang katapos-tapos :-)

  5. “Nang tanungin ko si “M” (he’s 28 years old and jobless), he was firm in saying that he’s not violating any law. “I’m just exercising my freedom of expression,” he said.”

–> can it be any more candid and obvious? hay pilipinas. and yup, your news coverage was really interesting :)

  7. [...] Sandra Aguinaldo: Meanwhile, “M” is as free as a bird because the NBI has yet to find a basis to arrest him. [...]

  8. this comment may be irrelevant to the topic.

    btw here’s my e-mail add yan2x6666@yahoo.com

Laking pera nun.

    Si loren, nagpapakilala na naman.

    Trafficking of women?

At kinaiinisan.

Hello… Earth to NBI, heard about FANTASTICO? HELLO?

  10. Miss Sandra, and Peps…

    Take a look.

    http://www.pinoyspy.com/2007/09/08/loren-legarda-acting-as-the-new-philippine-internet-police/

TORO!

  12. Well…
